Founder of The Well-Connected Life.
Rachel Steinman is a Los Angeles native, educator, writer, speaker, and founder of The Well Connected Life, a research-based initiative dedicated to helping schools, workplaces, and communities cultivate meaningful connection, belonging, and well-being. Grounded in neuroscience, psychology, social health, and mindfulness, her work translates the science of human connection into practical strategies that help people flourish.
With a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Education from UCLA, Rachel has spent more than two decades working with children, educators, parents, and communities. A creative teacher at heart, she has taught every elementary grade, served as a school librarian, and now teaches mindfulness while helping students develop the social and emotional skills that foster resilience, healthy friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.
Rachel’s passion for this work is deeply personal. Twenty-four years after her grandfather died by suicide, she discovered the unfinished manuscript he had left behind. That moment sparked a journey to better understand her family’s history of trauma, substance abuse, mental illness, loss, and resilience. Rather than allowing shame and silence to define her family’s story, Rachel chose to transform it into one of compassion, hope, connection, and advocacy.
Through her writing, speaking, podcasting, and educational programs, Rachel encourages honest conversations about mental health and reminds people that connection is one of the most powerful protective factors for our emotional, physical, and psychological well-being. Her work reflects a simple but profound belief: when people feel seen, valued, and like they truly matter, individuals and communities thrive.
As a certified lead presenter for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Rachel has spoken to thousands of students, educators, faculty, staff, and parents, helping communities break the silence surrounding mental health. Whether she’s leading a mindfulness lesson in an elementary classroom, presenting to educators, or speaking to organizations, her mission remains the same: to help people build lives rooted in connection, purpose, and hope.

Dear Family is a podcast about the relationships that shape us. Through honest conversations with authors, researchers, mental health professionals, educators, and everyday people, we explore connection, parenting, friendship, resilience, purpose, and the stories that help us better understand ourselves and one another. Each episode offers thoughtful insights and practical takeaways to help us build healthier relationships and live more connected lives.
Rachel Steinman has written Stay Golden, Girls: Friendship is the New Marriage with her best friend, Rachel Winter. This gift book celebrates the importance of women’s friendships and the lifelong bonds that form the foundation of a happy and fulfilling life.
Friendship, connection, and relational health are the heart of her personal and professional journey with her Stay Forever Gold brand that creates products, experiences, and conversations around the idea that friendship is one of the most important relationships in our lives. Rachel hosts The Friendship Table, intimate gatherings where friends come together to share a meal, connect, share stories, and celebrate the power of friendship. Each event blends meaningful conversation with simple, joyful experiences that include guided prompts, mindfulness, and laughter around the table.
