I’m a Failure and Proud of It- And Why #40 is so Meaningful!

Because this episode is about owning our failures, I’m celebrating my 40th Dear Family, podcast episode, something a year ago I thought impossible. We’ll discuss why #40 is meaningful in history, science, religion, & pop culture & why you should fail and fail often.

Let’s look at our failures the way the Japanese look at broken pottery. In Kintsugi pottery, broken pieces are bonded with precious gold. It’s the unique character flaws, the scars that add to the beauty & depth of the piece.

Rachel thank you for sharing your deeply personal story and laying out both your challenges and successes. You’ve been such an inspiration for me especially over this past year! I love your podcasts because your interviews tell real life stories of struggles from many incredibley successful people and how they’ve navigated through them. Many I know and have an even greater respect for their bravery in sharing their truths. Your work teaches listeners to look for the rewards in the most difficult times and to use those tools to become stronger and wiser and mostly to listen to your heart and not give up on your passions and in some cases people.
I listened to your story today and it made me so happy for you!!! I also needed to hear this today. These uncertain times can bring out the blues when we least expect it. You reminded me today to “get back on the that horse” and not to give up when the going gets tough, just continue to be patient and focus on the good stuff. 😊
Happy 40th Essay! You are brave, gifted and beautiful. I love your heart. ❤❤❤
